Cookies

This page explains the cookies and similar technologies used on the WidgetAI website and web application.

Strictly necessary cookies (no consent needed)

These first-party cookies are required for the Service to function and cannot be switched off:

  • better-auth-session — keeps you signed in to your WidgetAI account. Set on .getwidgetai.com so the session works across our subdomains; HttpOnly and Secure; expires after 30 days.
  • wai-consent — stores your cookie-consent choices so we don't ask again and can honour them on every page; expires after 180 days.

Cookieless analytics (no consent needed)

  • Analytics: we use self-hosted Umami, which is cookieless and uses anonymized, aggregated counters only.
  • Email tracking: open- and click-tracking are disabled at the email-provider (Resend) domain level. We rely solely on user actions inside the app/email to gauge engagement.

These set no cookies and carry no cross-site identifiers, so they run without consent.

Google tags — Consent Mode v2

We use Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads, loaded through Google's gtag.js with Google Consent Mode v2. These tags load with consent denied by default, so they set no cookies and store no identifiers until you opt in — until then Google receives only aggregated, cookieless signals. When you accept a category we signal Google to enable storage for it; when you decline or withdraw, storage stays off and we clear any cookies already set.

  • Google Analytics 4, gtag.js (Google) — aggregated traffic and conversion measurement. Governed by your analytics choice; sets _ga / _gid cookies once granted.
  • Google Ads, gtag.js (Google) — conversion measurement and remarketing for our Google ads. Governed by your advertising choice; sets _gcl_* / _gac_* cookies once granted.

You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link. Where you consent, your data may be transferred to the United States; see our Privacy Policy for the safeguards we rely on.

Advertising cookies (off by default — load only with your consent)

To measure and improve the ads we run on other platforms, we use their pixels. When you consent, these set cookies and share event data (such as page views and sign-ups) with the providers below:

  • Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms) — measure and optimise our Facebook and Instagram ads, including retargeting.
  • TikTok Pixel (TikTok) — measure and optimise our TikTok ads.
  • X Pixel (X Corp) — measure and optimise our X (Twitter) ads.

These pixels do not load until you accept them in our cookie banner. If you reject them they never load, and you can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link. Where you consent, your data may be transferred to the United States; see our Privacy Policy for the safeguards we rely on.

For full detail on what we collect and the legal bases we rely on, see our Privacy Policy.
