2026.7.13: Apple Music now-playing widgets

July 18, 2026 · version 2026.7.13 · App Store · All releases

• Widgets can show the current Apple Music track: title, artist, album, artwork and whether it's playing. It's read on your device with the media-library permission and never uploaded.
• Two templates to start from: Now Playing and Album Art.
• The free plan is set to 2 widgets.
• When a photo widget shows blank, the AI now explains the usual cause (the photo lives on another device) instead of guessing.
